I adore bicycle gears. They are just about the perfect artistic project for me. I hand-paint cyanotype liquid onto watercolor paper. In this case, I left gaps in what I painted so some areas remained white. I then lay out the gears. In this image I’ve laid them out in an intermeshed pattern, which always appeals to me.
This is an 8 inch by 10 inch hand-painted cyanotype sheet of paper, matted out to 11 inch by 14 inch. It is the unique original piece of art. It comes in a protective plastic bag.
