Cyanotype Gear Rough Edge Art

I love having rough edges on my cyanotypes. I paint the paper with a large brush and leave rough, ragged edges on the sides so the paper shows through. It makes the artwork more interesting to me.

This is made with bicycle gears. I’ve always loved bicycle gears and find their interactions with each other fascinating.

This is an 8 inch by 10 inch hand-painted cyanotype sheet of paper, matted out to 11 inch by 14 inch. It is the unique original piece of art. It comes in a protective plastic bag.
