Sometimes when I work with cyanotypes I end up with odd leftover pieces. That was the case here. I also had a coaster which had lost its central cork insert.
So I cut my remaining cyanotype paper into a circular shape. I put packing tape across the top of it to protect it from the water / condensation of the drinks. Voila, a new functional coaster!
UPDATE
It’s now two years later, and I still use this coaster. I love having it on my desk. It goes to show you never know what type of inspiration will hit you when you’re working on art projects!
This coaster was made by me, and I took the photograph of my coaster. The image is copyright me Lisa Shea.
